NBA betting has not been a good value on the Hornets while the Bulls have steadily improved as a basketball betting commodity. New Orleans was one of the best teams in the early going this NBA betting season but they have certainly cooled off recently.
Since January 30 the Hornets have been one of the worst basketball betting values on the board. New Orleans had an overall NBA betting record of 38-22 straight up and 25-33-2 against the basketball betting odds. From January 30 through March 5 New Orleans was in a horrible NBA betting stretch in which they went 6-12 against the spread.
During that stretch they fell out of first place in the southwest division as the San Antonio Spurs passed them by. New Orleans' NBA betting strength was their 3rd ranked defense. Their offense ranked 25th overall, however, and has been a source of frustration.
The Hornets have not been much of a NBA betting value on the road as evidenced by their mark of 11-17-1 against the spread away from home. The Chicago Bulls have the good NBA betting fortune to play in the weak eastern conference, which is why they still have post season basketball betting possibilities.
Chicago had an overall NBA betting record of 28-34 straight up and 30-31-1 against the basketball betting odds. The Bulls have been a solid NBA betting value lately however, as from January 25 through March 4 they went 12-5 against the spread.
Chicago was a solid NBA betting “over” team as they had a record of 34-27-1 over the total including 17-12 over the number at home. Chicago was in a tight race with Miami, Milwaukee, New Jersey, Charlotte, Indiana, and New York for the last two playoff slots in the east.
Philadelphia and Milwaukee held the seventh and eight spots respectively and they both had losing records. The Bulls beat the Hornets on February 4 by a score of 107-93 as they covered the spread as 1.5-point road dogs while the game soared over the total of 185.5.
