NBA Betting: L.A. Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs

NBA betting on the Lakers and Spurs is on one of the most attractive matchups in the league this basketball betting season.

NBA betting handicappers will have their choice of the top two teams in the western conference and long time basketball betting powers.  The Los Angeles Lakers have had the best straight up record in NBA betting for much of the season but they have not carried much basketball betting value to go along with that.

The Lakers have also not had much NBA betting success as of late.  Los Angeles had an overall NBA betting record of 49-12 straight up and 31-30 against the basketball betting odds.  As is often the case with the Lakers they have become overpriced and a poor value since mid February.

From February 20 through March 3 the Lakers went into a NBA betting stretch in which they got the cash in just 2 out of 7 games.  In that same stretch just 2 of those games went over the total.  Up until that recent run the Lakers had been one of the strongest “over” teams in NBA betting.

Even with that stretch the Lakers had still been an over team as their mark of 35-25-1 over the total illustrates.  Kobe Bryant was again proving to be one of the biggest assets in NBA betting as he led LA in scoring with an average of 28.1 points per game.  The San Antonio Spurs have also hit the NBA betting skids as of late.

From February 27 through March 4 the Spurs got the cash in just 1 out of 4 games but had covered 4 consecutive basketball betting opportunities prior to that.  San Antonio had an overall NBA betting record of 40-20 straight up and 30-28-2 against the basketball betting odds.

The Spurs were not a strong NBA betting host as their record of 12-15-1 against the spread would indicate.  These two teams last met on January 25 at LA and the Lakers prevailed 99-85 with an easy cover as 7.5-point favorites as the game went well under the total of 201.
