Basketball betting fans would be hard pressed to imagine a less interesting or appealing online basketball betting commodity that Toronto for the upcoming season.
With Chris Bosh now in Miami as a member of the “Three Kings” with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and playing in a hockey mad market the Raptors could be facing a season of virtual extinction.
Last year, even with Bosh, Toronto could still not manage to get into the post season as they suffered an epic pro basketball betting collapse in the final two weeks of the season to end up with just 40 wins and out of the money.
Sports-Gambling opened with Toronto as a prohibitive +20000 long shot to win the 2010-11 NBA title and with plenty of good reason as there simply doesn’t appear to be any legitimate reason to believe that the Raptors can compete consistently with the rest of the league.
The only question is whether or not they will perhaps offer some form of board value as a team that will get enhanced prices from the oddsmakers in order to attract gambling action their way.
Besides Bosh, Toronto is also going to be without Hedo Turkoglu, who was a major basketball sports betting disappointment last year and was traded to Phoenix for Leandro Barbosa and Dwayne Jones.
Head coach Jay Triano has tried to keep an optimistic front and actually believes that the Raptors will be improved from last year on both ends of the court. Toronto was one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA last year and will need improvement if they are to even flirt with a .500 record.
Forward Andrea Bargnani is the new face of the Raptors and is coming off a solid basketball betting campaign last year in which he averaged 17.2 points per game while shooting over 37% from 3-point range. Triano believes that Bargnani can be a NBA All Star.
Amir Johnson will join Bargnani up from and should see more playing time than in the past and small forward Linas Kleiza arrived from Denver for the small forward spot. David Anderson was another key off season acquisition from Houston at the center position.
