Basketball betting expectations were high for the Portland Trailblazers at the start of the season but so far they are off to a sluggish start with inconsistent NBA betting results.

Basketball betting expectations were also high for the Milwaukee Bucks after their playoff run of last year but the Bucks have been a poor NBA betting value so far.

The Portland Trailblazers will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night with a start time of 10 PM ET.  Be sure and open your account at Sports Gambling for the side and total odds on this interconference matchup.

Milwaukee opened the season with a record of 10-15 straight up and just 9-14-2 with the NBA odds.  The Bucks were playing their best basketball on the road however with a mark of 5-7 against the spread and an even 6-6 split on over unders.  Milwaukee has one of the worst offenses in the NBA as they ranked 30th in the league for scoring with 91.6 points per game.

The Bucks are been solid defensively with a ranking of 6th as they were allowing 93.2 points per game.  Brandon Jennings was the leading scorer with 17.9 points per game and he also led in assists with 5.5 per game.  Jennings has had a recent foot issue which could cause his playing status to change.

Coach Scott Skiles always demands a top effort and hard play which can often make Milwaukee a valuable dog on the board.

Portland was an even 14-14 straight up and 13-13-2 with the NBA lines.  The Trailblazers got the money in 7 of their first 12 home games.  The Blazers were showing improved play in December as they paid out in 6 of 9 games from December 5 through December 18.  Portland has suffered from the injury bug to key personnel that has slowed their ability to win down.

Center Marcus Camby had questionable status with a shoulder issue, guard Brandon Roy had doubtful status with a knee injury, and center Joel Przybilla was doubtful with an ankle injury.  LaMarcus Aldridge picked up the slack with a team best 18.7 points per game.

Portland has dominated this basketball betting series as of late with 6 payouts in their last 7 games against the Bucks.  The Blazers have covered their last 3 home games against the Bucks with 6 of the last 7 meetings between the teams in Portland going over the total.
