Basketball Betting: Phoenix Suns vs. Portland Trailblazers
Basketball betting has turned sour on Phoenix after a nice start. The Suns have lost a lot of NBA basketball betting value due to the public taking notice of their hot start but also because of a tough transition. When Terry Porter took over as coach of Phoenix, the basketball betting public was told that the Suns were going to slow down their normal fast-paced and up-tempo offense to focus more on being a strong defensive team that would do well in the NBA basketball betting post season.
At first, it seemed as if it would be a smooth basketball betting transition, but the Suns have had a much rougher go of it lately. From November 28 through December 12, Phoenix went on a NBA basketball betting stretch in which they were 2-6 against the spread.
Overall Phoenix had a basketball betting record of 14-10 straight up and 10-14 against the basketball betting odds. The Suns had a road basketball betting record of an even 6-6 against the spread with 8 of the 12 games going over the total. Phoenix was just 2-4 against the spread as a basketball betting dog.
Phoenix, as time went on, did not seem to change from what they used to be. They were still a good offensive club as their overall ranking of 6th in the league would show. The Suns have yet to succeed at Porter’s goal of being a strong defensive team, however, as they ranked 23rd overall in the NBA.
The Portland Trailblazers, like Phoenix, had a nice start to the basketball betting season but have had a recent loss of basketball betting value. Portland had an overall basketball betting record of 15-10 straight up but just 11-14 against the basketball betting odds.
Portland was 5-4 against the spread at home and 5 of their 9 home games went under the total. The Trailblazers were just 5-8 against the spread as a basketball betting chalk. Portland ranked 14th overall on offense and a solid 8th overall on defense.
