Basketball Betting: Chicago Bulls vs. Houston Rockets

Basketball betting Tuesday includes an inter-conference matchup between the Bulls and Rockets in NBA betting action from Houston.

Basketball betting fans have not gotten good NBA betting value from either team so far this season, though Houston is having a far better year.  The Chicago Bulls have degenerated into one of the worst teams in eastern conference basketball betting.  Chicago had an overall basketball betting record of 21-27 straight up and 22-26 against the basketball betting lines.

The Bulls did pick up the basketball betting pace from January 25 through January 31 as they got the cash in four consecutive games, with three of those games being straight up wins.  Chicago’s basketball betting weakness has been their 23rd ranked defense while their offense ranked 12th.

As a basketball betting underdog the Bulls have gone 14-15 against the spread.  Ben Gordon has been a NBA betting plus for Chicago as he led the team in scoring with an average of 20 points per game.  The Houston Rockets had an overall basketball betting record of 29-19 straight up and 22-26 against the basketball betting lines.

Houston had an up and down January and gained no traction. The Rockets have been a subpar NBA betting team at home with a record of 9-13 against the spread, with an identical home record of 9-13 under the total.  Houston was just 16-20 against the spread as a basketball betting favorite.

The Rockets ranked just 18th overall in the NBA for scoring as their basketball betting strength has been their 9th ranked defense.  Yao Ming was the Rockets leading scorer with an average of nearly 20 points per game.

Yao has been Houston’s top basketball betting asset as he also led the team in rebounds with an average of almost 10 per game.  From January 23 through January 31 the Rockets went on something of an under run as just one of their five games in the span went over the total.

Houston has been in a tight race for first place in the southwest division with San Antonio and New Orleans and is fighting for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
