MLB Betting on San Francisco Giants at Sports Gambling

MLB betting on the 2008 Giants will definitely involve something of a departure from baseball betting in the past because Barry Bonds is no longer a part of the team.

Bonds was an All-Star starter last year, so it is hard to argue that Bonds’ departure will help the Giants, but MLB betting analysts will point out that the team has nowhere to go but up from their 2007 season. Nevertheless, the Giants are in a tough division so most MLB baseball betting experts are doubtful that the team will enjoy much MLB betting success in 2008.

MLB betting on the Giants last year was far from profitable. The Giants ended the season in the cellar of their division with a pitiful 71-91 record. San Francisco also had a dismal 79-83 record against the MLB betting run lines, indicating the team offered very limited MLB baseball betting value.

In truth, the only high point in the season was Barry Bonds, who also served as a great source of controversy. Bonds broke the career home run record last year and he was playing so well that he earned himself a role as a starter in the All-Star game.

Nevertheless, the steroids scandal surrounding Bonds continues to linger and many MLB betting analysts believed it was a distraction to many of Bonds’ teammates. The Giants released Bonds in the offseason and it currently is unclear where he will be playing in 2008, if at all.

From the perspective of MLB betting on the Giants, it remains uncertain just how this change will affect the team. On the one hand, some MLB betting experts believe the Giants will be even worse after letting go of the man who was quite arguably the best player on the roster.

The Giants do have some other talented players, such as Barry Zito, but none command the same respect from MLB betting enthusiasts as does Bonds.

On the other hand, some MLB baseball betting experts believe the Giants needed to rid themselves of Bonds so that they can start moving forward as a team by casting off the controversy that surrounds Bonds. If this is the case and the Giants can improve somewhat in 2008, then they may actually offer some real MLB betting value.

As the team’s record against the MLB betting odds last year indicates, the Giants are not respected in the MLB betting odds, so with a little more success they may actually become good MLB betting underdogs.
