Online Baseball Betting - NL Key Matchups

Online baseball betting continues with key matchups this week as the race for the baseball wagering playoffs has 6 teams in close contention.

Online baseball betting handicappers continue to be amazed at the San Diego Padres who are the most profitable team in all of baseball wagering.

The Padres expanded their lead to 6 games in the National League West and will entertain the last place Arizona Diamondbacks this week before a key home series against the Philadelphia Phillies starting on Friday.

The Phillies began the week 2.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League East but were the top team in the wild card race 2 games in front of the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Phillies will host the Houston Astros before their trip to San Diego.  The Phillies began this week having won 7 out of 10 games and were 40-21 at home.

Atlanta continues its hot play as they also entered the week having won 7 out of their last 10 games with the MLB betting odds. The Braves will travel to Colorado to face the fading Rockies and then return home for a weekend series against the Florida Marlins.  Atlanta was 44-17 at home, the best mark in the majors.

The Cincinnati Reds entered the week having won 8 out of their last 10 games off a west coast road trip where they normally struggle.  They expanded their lead to 3.5 games over the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central.

They continue the west coast swing this week at the San Francisco Giants before coming home to host the Chicago Cubs.

St. Louis will play at the Pittsburgh Pirates this week before a weekend series at the Washington Nationals.  The Redbirds were 26-31 with the MLB betting line in road action and need to take advantage of the soft opposition this week to stay in the race for both the NL Central and the wild card.

The Giants were also 2 games behind the Phillies in the wild card race and after hosting the red hot Reds they will host Arizona over the weekend.  The Diamondbacks are one of the worst road teams in online baseball betting as they had a mark of 19-40.

The Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Florida Marlins and New York Mets were all in the outskirts of the wild card race and needing hot streaks and help.
