These two teams are expected to battle all season for the American League East title but so far this year it is the Yankees who look like the best team.  The baseball betting odds at Sports Gambling favor the Yankees in this Sunday night contest.

MLB gambling has seen the Red Sox do okay at Yankee Stadium of late.  Before this series began on Friday the teams had split their last 10 meetings in New York.  This series has been so even that the teams had split their last 20 games before this three-game set. Earlier this season the teams met in Boston and the Red Sox won two of the three.

Two of those games were slugfests with 13 and 15 runs scored while the other game was a 4-0 win for Boston with Josh Beckett on the mound. The teams last met in New York for a series last September and the Red Sox took two of the three games against the baseball betting odds.

New York has been winning against the odds in MLB betting thanks to an offense that is putting up just over five runs per game this season. New York is in the top five in the league in runs per game.

They have been leading the league in home runs which makes sense considering they have power hitters like Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira not to mention Robinson Cano and even Curtis Granderson who is off to a hot start.  The Yankees have been about average in pitching with an ERA that ranks right in the middle of the league.

Boston started so poorly this season in MLB gambling but since their slow start they have recovered nicely. The Red Sox are gradually moving up the standings and their overall numbers are getting better. Boston is now averaging over four runs per game and their pitching is getting closer to the league average in ERA.

There is a ton of talent on the Red Sox and they were picked to win the American League in MLB lines before the season began.  It is only May and there is a lot of baseball yet to be played.  Boston is not that far behind the Yankees considering their poor start.
