It has not been a good season so far for Carpenter as he has yet to get a win.  Check out the baseball betting odds on this game at Sports-Gambling.

MLB gambling on the Cardinals has been up and down this season but the Cardinals have been in first place for much of the season.  That is not saying much in a poor National League Central but the Cardinals have stayed above .500 even though they have gotten nothing from Carpenter.

He is the ace of the staff and still doesn’t have a win. He was very poor last time out against Florida when he allowed six runs, four of which were earned in six innings and he also made two errors. Carpenter is 0-2 on the season with a 4.19 ERA. In his career against the Cubs, Carpenter is 10-6 with a 3.10 ERA.

Carlos Zambrano is expected to get the start on Tuesday and he has four wins on the season.  He has an ERA of 4.23 on the season but his record is 4-1.  He did win last time out against the Dodgers which was his 10th straight on the road.

Surprisingly, he does not have a win in three home starts this season. Zambrano was very good against the Cardinals last year going 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA. In his career, Zambrano is 12-6 with a 3.42 ERA.

The Cubs have not done much to encourage gamblers wagering against the baseball betting odds this year as they are below average in hitting at 20th in the league and even worse in ERA at 28th in the league.  St. Louis has much better overall numbers as they are tops in the league in runs scored and in the top 10 in team ERA.

Before this series began in MLB gambling, the Cubs had won 11 of the last 20 games against the Cardinals.  This has really been a road team series in MLB betting.  The Cardinals had won 6 of the last 10 games at Chicago including two of the last three.  Three of the last four games in Chicago between the two teams had gone over the total vs. the MLB lines.
