MLB Betting: Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers at Sports Gambling

MLB betting fans will be treated to an outstanding Easter Special on the MLB odds board as two hated division rivals will meet in Milwaukee.

MLB betting handicappers will have their choice of the defending central champion Chicago Cubs, who are again a MLB odds favorite to win the pennant, or the Milwaukee Brewers.  The MLB betting scheduled starting pitchers are right hander Ryan Dempster for the Cubs and right hander Jeff Suppan for the Brewers.

The Cubs were one of the top teams for profits against the MLB odds last year and are considered an even stronger team for 2009.  Milwaukee remains a MLB betting question mark as they had the 2nd ranked pitching staff in the NL last year but lost their most important hurler, CC Sabathia, to the Yankees during the off season.

Dempster lost his first MLB betting start at Houston on April 7 in a 2-3 decision in which he pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits while walking 3 and striking out 5.  Dempster has had a lot of MLB betting success against the Brewers as he has a career mark of 8-2 vs. the Brew Crew with a 2.45 earned run average.

Dempster is coming off a fine MLB betting season for 2008 in which he was 17-6 with a 2.96 earned run average.  First baseman Derrek Lee leads a powerful lineup and is coming off a highly productive 2008 MLB betting season in which he hit .291 with 20 home runs, 119 Runs batted in, and had a .462 slugging percentage.

Jeff Suppan was lit up in Milwaukee's MLB betting opener at San Francisco as he allowed 6 earned runs in just 4 innings of work.  Suppan was bashed for 6 hits and a home run.

Left fielder Ryan Braun is the key man in the Brewer lineup and is coming off an outstanding season in which he hit .285 with 37 home runs and 106 runs batted in.  Ken Macha is the new Brewer manager after a successful run with the Oakland Athletics that included multiple playoff appearances.
