Betting baseball confusion reigns in Los Angeles and with handicappers taking a look at the Los Angeles Dodgers as there are plenty of baseball wagering questions regarding their prospects for 2011.

The Colorado Rockies will host the Los Angeles Dodgers in an early season National League West Division showdown that is set to start Tuesday night at 8:40 PM ET.  Open your Sports Gambling account for side and total odds on this possible playoff preview.

The probable starting pitchers for this one are Clayton Kershaw of Los Angeles and Jason Hammel of Colorado.

Kershaw helped the Dodgers beat the MLB betting odds in his first start in the season opener against the San Francisco Giants as he threw 7 shutout innings while allowing just 4 hits.  Last year Kershaw was 13-10 with a 2.91 earned run average.

The Dodgers have won 6 consecutive games over the Rockies with Kershaw on the hill as the starter and 6 of their last 8 games with Kershaw starting against Colorado have gone under the total.

Hammel will be making his first start of the season with the baseball lines in this game.  He went 10-9 for Colorado last year with a 4.81 earned run average.  Colorado has won 3 of their last 4 games against the Dodgers with Hammel as the starting pitcher with the last 2 of those games going over the total.

The Dodgers were showing a considerable power shortage to begin the season as they failed to hit a home run in their first 3 games.  Offensive production and power were the big concern about LA heading into the season as they will not be able to contend in the National League West without an increase in run production from last year.

Heading into this series the Dodgers had paid out in 13 of their last 20 games against the Rockies with 6 of the last 7 games between the teams going over the total.  The Dodgers have had solid success at Colorado with 14 payouts in their last 20 games at Coors Field.

Although it’s April this is a National League West Division series between two teams that can contend which makes it one of the more important betting baseball matchups of the week.
