The Bills come into the game off of a narrow 24-23 come from behind victory against the Raiders where they needed 17 fourth quarter points to win, but still were not able to cover the NFL betting line. St. Louis allowed 17 first quarter points en route to their third straight blowout loss, 37-13, to start the NFL football betting season.
The Bills have certainly started the season in impressive fashion, beating two playoff teams from last year in Jacksonville and Seattle. Last week against Oakland, the Bills offense looked pretty good most of the game, but three turnovers killed them and served as the main reason they needed a fourth quarter comeback.
RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns in the game and QB Trent Edwards was 24-of-39 for 279 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Bills offense has helped with their hot start and pro football bettors should note that currently the Bills have played two of their three games over the ‘total’ so far this year per the closing NFL football lines.
So far this year, the Rams have been one of the worst teams in football losing their first three games by 35, 28, and 24 points. The Rams defense has given up close to 39 PPG on average and 400 yards to all their opponents, and is currently the worst unit in the NFL.
QB Marc Bulger has been benched for former QB Trent Green this week even though Bulger has not put up bad numbers this far. Star RB Steven Jackson and WR Torry Holt have not provided much help either with Jackson averaging 53 yards rushing a game and Holt averaging 41 yards receiving.
The Rams’ poor defense has led them to playing three games over the ‘total’ for NFL gamblers off of the closing football odds. Right now, NFL lines show the Bills as eight-point favorites with a ‘total’ of 42 points.
