NFL Betting: St. Louis Rams vs. Washington Redskins

The St. Louis Rams (0-4, 0-4 ATS) look for their first NFL betting win of the season against the Washington Redskins (4-1, 4-1 ATS).

The new-look Rams will be on display in the nation’s capitol on Sunday afternoon, and football betting fans can sink their teeth into all of the action. Kickoff from FedEx Field is set for 1:00 PM ET. St. Louis won the last meeting between these squads 37-31 in 2006 as 1.5-point home favorites.

A 31-14 loss at home to Buffalo two weeks ago sent HC Scott Linehan packing. Football betting fans bid him adieu after going 0-4 both SU and ATS this year, and failing to cover the NFL betting line by a whopping 16.8 points per game. New HC Jim Haslett has his work cut out for him.

The Rams have been awful on both sides of the ball, ranking 30th in yards per game (246.8), last in points per game (10.8), 31st in yards per game allowed (411.8), and last in points per game allowed (36.8).

His first step towards reviving the Rams was reinstating QB Marc Bulger into the starting lineup after Linehan benched him in favor of Trent Green two weeks ago… smart move! Skins HC Jim Zorn is an early candidate for Coach of the Year honors. Washington has covered the spread in four straight games, which is the second longest streak in the league.

Last week’s victim was the Philadelphia Eagles. After falling behind 14-0 early, Washington battled back behind their workhorse, Clinton Portis. The University of Miami product ran the ball 29 times for 145 yards and a touchdown.

The football betting odds were stacked against the Skins for the second straight week, but NFL bettors with confidence in Washington were rewarded with their second straight outright victory as hefty road underdogs; Washington beat the Eagles in Philadelphia for the second year in a row and third time in its L/4 visits.

Washington’s been lined as 13.5-point favorites with a ‘total’ of 44. It may be a difficult pill to swallow, but the Rams may have some value for football bettors. The Skins are just 2-9-1 ATS in their L/12 against teams with losing records. has all of your NFL betting options covered for this and all of the great games on the card this weekend.
