NFL Betting: San Diego Chargers vs. Buffalo Bills

Kickoff is set for 1:00 ET.  Though San Diego is 3-1 SU in their L/4 meetings, Buffalo (4-1, 3-2 ATS) has dominated the NFL betting lines, as it has gone 3-1 ATS in the four match-ups.  These two teams most recently met in 2006, a game that the Chargers won 24-21 in Buffalo, but the Bills stuck in front of the 6-point spread.

Last Sunday night, NFL betting fans on San Diego (3-3, 3-2-1 ATS) had an easy time cashing their ticket, as the Chargers blasted New England 30-10.  QB Phillip Rivers was remarkably efficient, going 18-for-27 for 306 yards and three scores.  The story was the defense though, which racked up four sacks and forced two turnovers.

In the end, the Chargers made a mockery of the fact that they closed as just six-point favorites on the football betting line.  The Bills were off from football betting last week, which should have given them plenty of time to forget about the 41-17 shellacking they were handed in Arizona two weeks ago.

For a team that is 4-1, they only rank 18th on offense and 9th on defense.  Still, the NFL betting odds have them as +135 favorites to win the AFC East right now.  QB Trent Edwards has been fantastic and has asserted himself as the main man in Buffalo, but he suffered a concussion two weeks ago against the Cardinals.

He is listed as probable this weekend.  Watch out for WR Lee Evans, who is 2nd in the NFL, averaging a whopping 27.0 yards per reception.  Though they are the favorites to win the East, Buffalo isn’t favored to win this football betting match-up.  Oddsmakers made the Bills one-point underdogs against the Chargers.

The ‘total’ has been set at 44.5.  Both teams have very strong betting trends supporting them as well.  The Bills are 11-4 ATS in their L/15 home games, while San Diego is an astounding 36-16-3 ATS in their L/55 games against the AFC.
