NFL Betting: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

NFL betting returns to Jacksonville this week when the Jaguars (2-2 SU, 1-3 ATS) host a familiar nemesis in the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1 SU, 1-3 ATS).

The Steelers are coming off a thrilling 23-20 Monday Night Football overtime win against the Ravens, but were unable to cover the pro football betting line for the game. The Jaguars are also coming off of a thrilling 30-27 overtime win against division opponent Houston in their second straight game that was won by the powerful foot of Josh Scobee.

The Steelers’ win last week against the Ravens came at a high price, as LB Andre Frazier was carted off the field on the opening kickoff and later in the game RB Rashard Mendenhall and G Kendall Simmons both sustained season-ending injuries.

Since their season opening 38-17 win against the Texans, the Steelers have not been able to cover the NFL betting line the last three weeks, even though they won two of those games SU.

To beat the Jaguars, the Steelers 29th ranked offense will have to do better than they have the last three weeks, especially QB Ben Roethlisberger who has already been sacked 15 times and committed five turnovers.

Pro football betting fans should be aware that the Steelers have lost their last four games against the Jaguars, which includes last years thrilling 31-29 home defeat in the playoffs. Jacksonville enters the game after hearing the tragic news that OT Richard Collier had his leg amputated after being shot in the summer.

They will try to put their emotions behind them however when the Steelers come to visit. Last week against the Texans, QB David Garrard had a very good game going 23-for-32 with 236 yards and a touchdown in the win.

So far this season, the Jags haven’t been good for NFL gamblers as a home team going 1-1 SU and 0-2 ATS off of the final pro football betting odds. Currently, the NFL odds for this game have the Jaguars as four-point home favorites with a total of 37. Sportsbook has you covered in this game no matter if you like the favorite or the underdog, or the over or under.
