NFL Betting: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos

The “Mile High City” is the sight of a critical AFC showdown allowing NFL betting fans to sink their teeth into a solid match-up between the Broncos and the Jaguars.

Kickoff from Invesco Field is set for 4:05 ET. The Jags (2-3, 1-4 ATS) bested the Broncos (4-1, 1-3-1 ATS) 23-14 last season in Denver, easily beating the NFL betting line that saw Denver close as short home favorites. These teams are 4-4 both SU and ATS in their eight all time meetings.

The football betting line for Jacksonville’s game against Pittsburgh opened with the hosts at (-3), but early NFL betting gurus pushed the line to five before kickoff. All of the sports bettors who pushed that line up were bitterly disappointed by Jacksonville’s effort against the nicked up Steelers.

The Jags were only briefly ahead of the closing line at 14-7 in the 1st quarter, but never seriously had a chance to cash a winning ticket for their betting backers. The normally reliable Jags rushing game was miserable against a stout Steelers front seven as RBs Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew mustered just 26 overall yards on 15 carries.

QB Ben Roethlisberger threw the game clinching TD with less than two minutes left allowing Pittsburgh to avenge its post-season loss to the Jags from a year ago. Denver outplayed Tampa Bay for the mass majority of its game last weekend, but couldn’t hammer the nail in the coffin for football betting fans who laid the 3.5-points per the closing NFL odds.

As a result, a late Bucs touchdown hammered down a backdoor cover for Tampa Bay, even though Denver won the game 16-13. QB Jay Cutler was efficient, going 23-of-34 for 227 yards and a touchdown, but more importantly, no picks. He’s now thrown for 1,501 yards on the season, and remains an early candidate for the MVP award.

Denver has been tabbed as 3.5-point favorites against the Jags with the ‘total’ hovering around 48. Jacksonville has been recently stellar against AFC West opponents going 4-0 SU and ATS the L/4 times. The Broncos haven’t had any luck against the AFC South though going 1-4 SU and ATS in their L/5 attempts. offers up all the betting action you can handle for this great AFC clash so open an account today and get in the game!
