Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET. The last time these two teams squared off was in Week 7 of the 2007 season, and the Bengals beat the Jets 38-31 as 6.5-point favorites in Cincinnati.

The Bengals were in Dallas last Sunday for an inter-conference NFL betting showdown with the Cowboys who were favored by a hefty 16 points; the speculated total was 44.5. Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer threw an interception on the first play of the game that resulted in a field goal for the Cowboys.

Cincinnati tacked on two field goals in the second quarter and was trailing at halftime by a score of 17-6. Palmer threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the third quarter to cut the Cowboys’ lead to four points.

He hooked up with Houshmandzadeh for another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to claim victory. Dallas won the game 31-22, but was unable to cover the closing football betting line. Football bettors who picked the over to prevail were victorious and rewarded accordingly.

The New York Jets had a bye in Week 5 after playing host to the Arizona Cardinals in a highly entertaining Week 4 pro football wagering contest. New York closed as a one-point home favorite over Arizona according to the closing NFL odds, with the ‘total’ set at 43.5.

This game was all over the place. In the second quarter, the Cardinals committed four turnovers (two interceptions, two fumbles) and the Jets scored 34 points. Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner threw two interceptions and fumbled the football four times in the game.

Jets quarterback Brett Favre threw six touchdown passes on the afternoon (career high), much to the elation of Jets fans and NFL bettors who picked the ‘total’ to go over the ‘total’. When the smoke from all the fireworks dissipated, New York upended Arizona by a final score of 56-35.

The New York Jets are a six-point favorite over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, with the ‘total’ standing pat at 45.5.
