NFL Betting - Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns

The 4th week of the NFL pre-season kicks off tonight when the Chicago Bears takes on Cleveland Browns in an NFL betting clash.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 ET. Chicago’s first team offense was in rhythm in its NFL betting affair last week as it accounted for 20 first half points behind an excellent showing from newly proclaimed starter Kyle Orton who completed 10-of-17 passes for 147 yards with a pair of TD strikes.

That said; the defense had major problems containing the 49ers offensive attack, which leaves cause for concern for the upcoming season. All three of the Niners quarterback’s moved the ball through the air with ease, and RBs Thomas Clayton and Frank Gore combined to rush for 132 yards on 26 carries.

That alone must have kept head coach Lovie Smith up all night knowing that his run defense got torched a number of occasions last season. The Bears have cost NFL betting fans against the closing NFL line their previous three pre-season games, but they were the favorite in each and will be grabbing points in this spot.

The Cleveland Browns will enter its 2008 regular season campaign as a legitimate contender for the AFC North title. That said; the club has looked putrid in the pre-season costing pro football betting fans a pretty penny by matching tonight’s opponents’ 0-3 SU and ATS mark throughout the first three weeks of the pre-season.

They looked awful in their dress rehearsal last week in Detroit where the Lions rolled them up by a 26-6 final count allowing Detroit backers to cash an easy ticket. QB Brady Quinn was terrible in his first official NFL start completing 14-0f-24 passes for 106 yards, and back-up QB Ken Dorsey wasn’t much better.

Thankfully, the offense will be going up against a Bears defense that’s allowed an absurd amount of points this pre-season to get them back in a positive offensive mind frame, and maybe help their betting backers cover the pro football odds. The Browns currently sit as two-point home favorites in tonight’s football betting affair, with the ‘total’ set at 38.5.
