NFL Betting: Arizona Cardinals vs. New England Patriots

NFL betting Sunday offers an inter-conference pairing of teams with contrasting motivations.

Arizona and New England have a NFL football betting matchup with many intangibles.  NFL betting handicappers know that Arizona has already clinched their division but cannot reach home field advantage.  New England, however, is in a must win NFL betting situation.

NFL football betting on the Arizona Cardinals could become tricky as there is not much NFL football betting motivation for them.  No matter what the Cardinals do they cannot catch Carolina or the Giants to gain home field advantage in the NFC.

With their first division title since 1975 already clinched, the Cardinals have potentially negative NFL betting motivation factors.  Arizona has already shown signs of running out of steam recently with a NFL football betting mark of 1-3 against the spread in their last 4 games.

The Cardinals have an overall NFL betting mark of 8-6 straight up and 8-6 against the football betting odds.  In over/under NFL betting action Arizona is 9-5 over the total but has gone under in 4 out of 7 road games this year.  Last week the Cardinals were blown out at home by Minnesota 14-35 as 4 point chalks.

The Cardinals have gone over the total in 13 of their last 19 road games.  The New England Patriots have had a very spotty NFL betting season.  Yet their overall record is 9-5 straight up which is good for a 3-way tie for first in the AFC East.

The Patriots have gone 2-3 against the NFL betting spread in their last 5 games and have an overall record of 7-7 against the football betting odds this year.  New England is coming off a strong NFL betting win and cover last week at Oakland 49-26 as 6.5 point chalks.

The Patriots are just 2-5 against the spread at home this season and have a strong NFL betting trend going in which the road team is 10-4 against the spread in all of their games this year.  The Patriots are an even 6-6 split as a NFL betting chalk in 2008.  The Patriots have covered just 2 of their last 12 home games dating back to last year.

New England is 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 games against Arizona.
