NCAA Football Wagering: ASU Sun Devils vs. Cal Golden Bears

A 2-0 jump start in the Pac-10 standings is on the line Saturday when the (2-2) Sun Devils meets (3-1) Cal for a NCAA football wagering showdown.

Kickoff at Memorial Stadium is slated for 3:30 ET, and can be seen nationally on ABC or ESPN 360. Two weeks have passed since Arizona State last appeared on National television.

However, it will take more than two weeks and tougher practices to make the Sun Devils forget about the rushing clinic RB Knowshon Moreno and Georgia displayed in the Bulldogs 27-10 victory in Tempe back on September 20th.

The Georgia sophomore ran for 149-yards on 23-carries with 2-TDs, while the entire ASU ground-attack only gained four-yards on 19-carries in the contest, costing college football betting fans their second loss ATS in as many weeks.

ASU Sr. QB Rudy Carpenter finished the game with 208-yards on 23/36 passing with a TD, but his team was more than doubled-up in total yards. If ASU wants to even its record against the college football odds in week-six, someone needs to rush for a touchdown, a feat the Devils haven't accomplished in the past eight quarters.

Cal finished its non-conference portion of the 2008 schedule last Saturday by crushing Colorado State 42-7, despite only controlling the football for less than 24-minutes in the contest.

The Golden Bears were out-gained in the passing game and in total yards, but its defense and special teams combined for three of the teams six-touchdowns, which allowed NCAA football betting followers to collect their third win ATS this season.

Former Cal starting QB, Sr. Nate Longshore, is now back in the mix for his old role after tossing two fourth-quarter touchdown passes on 9/13 passing for 100-yards, however, star So. RB Jahvid Best left the game after dislocating his left-elbow following a third-quarter run; Best tallied 85-yards on 11-carries before his departure.

Even without Best in the backfield come Saturday, it's best to remember that Cal has not only won four of the last five meetings with Arizona State, but the Bears have beaten the NCAA line in each of those victories.

Cal looks to cap-off its homecoming festivities Saturday afternoon with a win over Arizona State; the Golden Bears currently sit as 9.5-point favorites with the total standing pat at 55. Make all of your College Football Bets today, by visiting Sportsbook.
