NCAA Football Betting: VT Hokies vs. BC Eagles

The Hokies (5-1 SU, 2-3 ATS) will look to avenge last year’s heartbreaking NCAA football betting home loss to Matt Ryan and the Eagles (4-1 SU, 2-2 ATS).

Hokies and Eagles will square off in Chestnut Hill on Saturday night.  The Hokies were off last week and are currently the only team in the ACC Coastal that does not yet have a loss in conference play.

Meanwhile, the Eagles need a win to keep up with conference foe Wake Forest after their disappointing 19-16 college football betting loss to Georgia Tech earlier this season.  Virginia Tech has certainly bounced back from a disappointing opening day defeat at the hands of East Carolina by winning five straight games for NCAA betting followers.

Three weeks ago, the college football wagering line had the Hokies pegged as seven-point road underdogs to Nebraska and the Hokies responded with their best offensive performance to date, departing Lincoln with the 35-30 victory.

QB Tyrod Taylor accounted for 258 yards and a touchdown in the win and the Hokie defense again stepped up large by forcing five Nebraska turnovers and blocking a Cornhusker punt for a safety.

Last year against Virginia Tech, the Eagles were down 10-0 in Blacksburg before QB Matt Ryan led them to two touchdowns with 2:11 left in the game to give Boston College a stunning NCAA gambling victory.  This year, the Eagles offense has struggled to click at times without the leadership of Ryan but senior QB Chris Crane does have them off to a 4-1 start.

Two weeks ago against the Wolfpack, Crane was phenomenal completing 34-of-51 passes for 428 yards and five total touchdowns (three rushing) against just one turnover in BC’s 38-31 win in Raleigh.

The Eagles have won 15 of their first 19 games under HC Jeff Jagodzinski but one of those four losses was a 30-16 rematch loss against the Hokies in the ACC Championship game last year where the Hokies covered the five-point NCAA betting line by double-digits.

The college football gambling odds find the Eagles sitting as 2.5 point home favorites in this game.  You can find NCAA wagering odds on this game and all the other Week 8 games at Sportsbook, your one stop shop for all your online sports betting needs.
