In their last game, the Warhawks were soundly drubbed 34-0 by an Auburn squad that just overwhelmed them and will be looking to rebound. The Razorbacks had a huge scare from FBS Western Illinois barely hanging on to win 28-24 in a game they surely would not have covered if there had been a college football betting line on it.
The Warhawks opened the season with a very disappointing effort against Auburn only putting up 220 total yards of offense and being held scoreless. QB Kinsmon Lancaster was the only semi-highlight for the team that day, completing 20-of-38 passes for 136 yards and no interceptions.
The Warhawks’ offensive ineptitude was bad for both college football betting fans who backed them and those who instead decided to play the game over the ‘total’ off of the NCAA lines. Needless to say, the Warhawks will need to put on a much better performance this week to come out victorious.
The Razorbacks are coming off of an almost disastrous game against Western Illinois where they had to score in the final three minutes to beat the Leathernecks 28-24. After struggling in the first half, Casey Dick was able to lead the comeback by racking up 330 total yards and contributing in all four of his team’s end zone scampers.
The Razorback run defense will have to perform better however as they let WIU RB Herb Donaldson rush for 157 yards on them. Those who bet on college football are interested to see how soon Petrino can totally revamp Arkansas using an entirely different scheme than old coach Houston Nutt and the NCAA odds are reflecting this.
Currently the NCAA football odds on the game have the Razorbacks installed as 13-point favorites with a ‘total’ of 47.5 points.
