NCAA Football Betting: UConn Huskies vs. Louisville Cardinals

Papa John’s Stadium will be the setting for Friday night’s NCAA football betting encounter between the Huskies (4-0, 1-2 ATS) and the Cardinals (2-1, 1-1 ATS).

Kickoff from Louisville is set for 8:00 PM and the game can be viewed nationally on ESPN2. The Huskies are one of just two undefeated teams left in the Big East. Last week, they survived a dogfight with the Baylor Bears.

Connecticut overcame two interceptions thrown by QB Tyler Lorenzen with a 150 yard rushing performance by Donald Brown III to lead them to a 31-28 victory over the Bears. The final touchdown was enough to push the game ‘over’ the ‘total’ of 52, but the game-winning score was no consolation for football betting fanatics who backed the Huskies.

Oddsmakers had made UConn 13-point favorites on the NCAA football betting line. The Connecticut rushing offense has been stellar so far this season, accounting for 279.5 yards per game, the 6th highest total in the land. Brown leads the nation with 716 rushing yards and 10 TDs through four games.

Louisville had an impressive showing in their nationally televised match-up against Kansas State last Wednesday night. They were 5.5-point underdogs on the closing football betting line, but the victory for football betting investors came relatively easy. The Cardinals only found themselves behind the spread once when they trailed 7-0 in the 1st quarter.

QB Hunter Caldwell had the best game of his collegiate career, completing 22-of-33 passes for 274 yards and two scores. Both Victor Anderson and Brock Bolen ran for over 100 yards. The rushing defense was phenomenal, limiting the Wildcats to 40 yards on 11 carries.

UConn’s rushing attack should provide a much stiffer challenge to the Louisville defense, which comes in ranked second in the NCAA against the run allowing just 42 yards per game. Oddsmakers have installed the Cardinals as slender 3.5-point home favorites. Sportsbook has all of the NCAA football betting you can handle.
