NCAA Football Betting: TN Volunteers vs. Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs will look to shake off its 41-30 beating at the hands of Alabama and jump back into the NCAA football betting BCS Title hunt hosting the Volunteers.

HC Phil Fulmer is on the hot seat in Knoxville after the Volunteers slow start; last weeks 13-9 home victory against Northern Illinois didn’t help his situation after the Vols failed to cover the 16.5-point NCAA betting line.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (4-1 SU, 2-1-1 ATS) were down 31-0 at the half “between the hedges” to Alabama before desperately coming back in the second half to make the final score more respectable.

The Volunteers (2-3 SU, 1-4 ATS) offense has struggled mightily to start the season which has led to the pressure on Fulmer, and it’s also a big reason why their last four games have gone under the ‘total’ per the college football wagering odds.

Last week, QB Jonathan Crompton was benched in favor of sophomore Nick Stephens but the offense still only produced nine first downs and 225 total yards against a Huskies defense that gave up 29 points to Western Michigan.

The Vols 1-4 NCAA football gambling record ATS this year ties the worst start to a season under Phil Fulmer in his 17 years at the helm in Knoxville. The Bulldogs will need to “hunker down” this week if they have any hope of regaining the top spot in the polls.

The last two years, the NCAA odds had the game against the Vols as a virtual toss up and both times the Vols have come out and won by double digits, which includes a 35-14 drubbing at Neyland Stadium last year. Making matters worse for the Bulldogs, RB Knowshon Moreno might not play in this game after suffering an injury against Alabama.

Though the Bulldogs looked bad for college football betting fans two weeks ago, they are 10-5-1 ATS since 2007. The college football gambling line finds the Bulldogs as 12.5-point home favorites in this game.
