Kickoff is set for Saturday at 3:30 ET. Duke is trying to reverse a horrible trend, as it’s just 1-19 SU in its L/20 ACC games. However, the Blue Devils on a much better streak of luck for their football betting followers going 8-6 ATS in their L/14. Miami has been almost as brutal since the 2006 season, as it’s just 5-13 both SU and ATS in ACC play.
These teams have met three times since Miami joined the ACC. The Canes are 3-0 SU, but Duke has covered the spread in each of their L/2 meetings with ease. Last week was another bitter disappointment for football betting fans with “The U” on their tickets.
They held UCF to just 78 total yards of offense, including just four yards on 27 carries, but it wasn’t nearly enough to beat the college football betting line. QB Robert Marve threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, while the special teams gave up a kick return for a score to the elusive Joe Burnett.
They were Central Florida’s only points of the game. Miami did just enough on offense to win, but its 20-14 victory wasn’t nearly enough to cover the spread as 17-point Dolphin Stadium favorites. The 3-1 Blue Devils were humbled a couple weeks ago, as they were shut out 27-0 by what’s proven to be a very game Georgia Tech outfit.
It was a bad break for their NCAA betting aficionados, but they’re still 3-1 ATS on the season. The difference for Duke bettors this year has been the defense that has improved over two touchdowns per game from last year’s dismal 33.2 points per game surrendered. The 18.4 points per game that Duke’s allowed to date ranks 33rd in the country.
Miami has been chosen as 5-point road favorites against the Blue Devils in this spot. Whether you plan on flying with the Canes or dropping some change on the Dookies, Sports-Gambling.com has all of your football wagering options covered.
