NCAA Football Betting: Georgia Tech vs. Boston College

The ACC’s Atlantic and Coastal Divisions collide for an NCAA Football Betting headliner as BC Eagles opens up at home this Saturday against GA Tech.

This sole Week 2 ACC match-up can be seen on both ESPN 360 as well as ESPN’s Gameplan, with kickoff slated for Noon Eastern from Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Jokingly, Eagles head coach Jeff Jagodzinski referred to his quarterback, Chris Crane, as a “fifth year freshman”, but thanks to the Pennsylvania native, college football betting aficionados and BC fans alike had little time to compare him to former Eagles and current Atlanta Falcons starter Matt Ryan.

Crane went on to complete 12-of-18 passes for 106 yards with no interceptions in his second official start, but it was his legs that did the most damage scampering for a pair of touchdowns. BC’s defense should also be commended, not only for causing three turnovers, but for also shutting the Golden Flashes out 21-0.

The final score indicates what little trouble the Eagles had in covering the 10.5-point college football betting line to improve to 1-0 both SU and ATS on the year. That said, BC must turn the page on its impressive defensive debut and focus its attention on the Yellow Jackets new-look offense.

Despite it’s opponent being D-I FCS (Formerly D-I AA) Jacksonville State, Georgia Tech  showed NCAA football betting fans that the triple-option attack is legit, and ready to contend for a birth in the ACC title game on December 6th.

Onlookers wouldn’t have been able to tell that Jackets quarterback, Josh Nesbitt, and running back, Jonathan Dwyer, were each making first career starts, as the duo accounted for more than half of GT’s total yards with four rushing touchdowns in a 41-14 beat-down of the Gamecocks.

Again, due to JSU’s classification, Georgia Tech remains untouched by the NCAA odds, but dating back to 2007, the Yellow Jackets are 1-4 ATS as Saturday approaches. The good news, however, is that while considering the same time table, Boston College boats an identical 1-4 record ATS following a SU win.

Boston College will play its next three games at Alumni Stadium, starting with the Yellow Jackets, who enter as seven-point underdogs.
