This game is scheduled for ESPN’s Thursday Night Football telecast. Kickoff from Winston-Salem is set for 7:30 ET. Clemson broke a string of four straight ATS defeats to the Deacs in ’07, as they defeated the Deacs 44-10.

The Tigers opened the year ranked in the Top-10 but are currently unranked, while Wake Forest sits in the #21 spot of the AP Poll coming into this week. Clemson was off from college football betting action last week, but HC Tommy Bowden and the Tigers are still probably licking their wounds from losing 20-17 to Maryland as 11-point home favorites on the football betting line two weeks ago.

QB Cullen Harper was on the Heisman watch list at the start of the year, but he is only averaging 189 passing yards per game and has thrown just three touchdowns against five interceptions. The defense ranks in the top half of the country in every major statistic, but those numbers are skewed based on the fact that they have played the Citadel and South Carolina State on the season.

The Demon Deacons were 3-0 heading into their non-conference football betting game with the Navy Midshipmen, but laid a huge egg, falling 24-17 even though they were 17-point favorites per the closing NCAA betting line. Wake Forest bettors have dropped two of their L/3 betting decisions in large part because of the offense.

It ranks 115th in college football in rushing yards, averaging just 84.8 yards per game. QB Riley Skinner had been suitable before the Navy game, but his four picks cost the Deacs any hope of winning their fourth straight game to start the season. Sports-Gambling.com currently has Wake Forest installed as slim 3-point favorites.

Five of the L/6 games between Clemson and Wake have gone ‘over’ the ‘total’, but betting trends suggest a lower scoring affair in this spot. Out of the L/14 games played in Winston-Salem, ten have gone ‘under’; ‘Under bettors’ have gone 11-4 in Clemson’s L/15 ACC games as well.
