NCAA Betting: WV Mountaineers vs. Connecticut Huskies

The West Virginia Mountaineers (5-2 SU, 2-4 ATS) and the Huskies (6-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) will meet Saturday in Storrs in a Big East NCAA betting play.

With Pittsburgh losing to Rutgers last week, the Big East title went up for grabs and two of the teams vying for the hardware.  West Virginia scored a huge NCAA betting 34-17 victory last week against Auburn to run their winning streak to four in a row.

The Huskies are coming off of a huge 40-16 homecoming win against Cincinnati where they easily covered the spread as three-point home underdogs.

Last Thursday night, the Mountaineer offense showed up for the first time since their season opening win against Villanova in their victory against Auburn that doubled as their first game to go over the ‘total’ by the NCAA betting lines this season.

In Pat White’s first game back, the Big East Offensive Player of the Year the past two seasons completed 62% of his passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  RB Noel Devine also showed off his amazing speed lighting up a great Auburn defense for 207 rushing yards on 17 carries and a touchdown in the win.

Heading into this game, the Mountaineers have a perfect 4-0 college football betting record against the Huskies.  Without QB Tyler Lorenzen, the Huskies had struggled to find its offensive groove in their previous two NCAA football betting losses before last week’s big win against the Bearcats.

Enter the nation’s second leading rusher, Donald Brown who rushed for 150 yards on 29 carries and two touchdowns in the romp.  Brown’s 165.5 yards per game average is good for tops in all of NCAA FBS football, and his 14 rushing touchdowns tie him for second in that category as well.

At home this season, Connecticut has played all three of their games over the ‘total’ off of the closing NCAA betting odds.  The NCAA odds have the Mountaineers as four-point road favorites in this game.  You can bet on this game and wager on NCAA football at Sportsbook for the remainder of the 2008 season.
