NCAA Betting: FSU Seminoles vs. GT Yellow Jackets

It’s a potential preview of the ACC NCAA betting title game when the Yellow Jackets square off with the Seminoles on Saturday afternoon.

Kickoff from Bobby Dodd Stadium is set for 3:30 PM.  The Seminoles (6-1, 3-2 ATS) are a perfect 8-0 against the Ramblin’ Wreck since joining the ACC, but they’re just 1-4 ATS in their L/5 meetings.  The last time these two teams met was back in 2003 at Doak Campbell Stadium.  FSU won 14-13, but G-Tech had no problem covering the football betting line.

NCAA football betting fans that backed Florida State had a much easier time covering the 6.5-points offered on the college football betting line after both QBs Tyrod Taylor and Sean Glennon were knocked out of the game for the Hokies.  Aside from knocking out both signal callers, the defense was relentless for Florida State allowing just 243 total yards.

VT only went 1/11 on 3rd down conversions.  Though none of the offensive numbers were sparkling on either side, the 50 combined points provided the third victory in FSU’s L/4 games for ‘over’ bettors.  Those are surprising numbers for a defense that ranks third in the NCAA in yards allowed (246.3) and 19th in points allowed (16.6).

Georgia Tech (6-2, 5-1 ATS) was one of just four teams that entered last weekend undefeated against the NCAA betting line, but couldn’t hold up their unblemished record for their football betting aficionados.  The Cavs outscored the Jackets 21-3 in the final three quarters to win 24-17.  QB Josh Nesbitt went 7/15 for 103 yards, but threw an interception and only ran for eight yards.

The G-Tech offense, which averages 236.6 rushing yards per game, was held to just 156 yards by UVA.  It could be another long day on the ground against a Florida State defense that is only allowing 78.7 rushing yards per game.  Oddsmakers have installed the visiting Seminoles as 1.5-point road favorites.

Since then, JQP has bet heavily on the Yellow Jackets turning them into 1.5-point home chalks.  All five of Georgia Tech’s ACC games have gone ‘under’ the ‘total’ in ‘08, so consider banking on another low scoring game this weekend.
