Football Betting: Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts

Football betting fans get a playoff preview Sunday in a NFL football betting matchup of AFC powers Tennessee and Indianapolis.

Football betting handicappers consider the Titans to be the new class of the AFC but the Colts still command a lot of NFL football betting respect as a long time contender.  The Tennessee Titans flirted with football betting immortality by winning their first 10 games straight up while going 9-1 against the NFL odds in the process.

After the New York Jets snapped that strong football betting run the Titans recovered to go 2-1 both straight up and against the spread in their next 3 games.  Tennessee has been a particularly strong football betting road team with a mark of 6-1 against the spread.  In over/under football betting action the Titans went under in 5 out of 7 road games.

Tennessee’s true strength has been their defense which was ranked 4th overall in the NFL.  Their offense has been more suspect with a 19th place ranking.  Earlier this NFL football betting season the Titans defeated the Colts 31-21 as 4 point home favorites on October 27.

The Indianapolis Colts were written off for dead by the NFL football betting community after opening the season 3-4 both straight up and against the spread.  The football betting word was that the team was old, tired, and no longer hungry.

But just as the football betting public gave up on the Colts they responded with a strong turnaround that has re-established them as an AFC contender.  After that October 27th loss at Tennessee the Colts went on a football betting streak in which they went 8-0 straight up and 4-3-1 against the NFL odds.

Quarterback Peyton Manning continues to be the main catalyst of the Colts football betting success as the Colts rank 16th overall on offense but 5th in the league in passing.  Coach Tony Dungy has earned a lot of praise for getting the Colts off the mat and back into the race.

Now the football betting word is that this is a team that may go all the way!
