Kentucky Derby Wagering on Square Eddie at Sports Gambling

Kentucky Derby wagering can bring in long shots at big money as all of the horses posted on the Kentucky Derby odds are of the highest quality.

Kentucky Derby wagering fans may find Square Eddie to be one of the top long shots this year against the Kentucky Derby odds.  Square Eddie enters Kentucky Derby wagering action with 2 wins, 3 places, and 2 shows in 8 starts.

Square Eddie is one of the richer horses on the Kentucky Derby odds board with total earned winnings of $804,981.  Despite all of that he opened at 33/1 on the Kentucky Derby wagering board.  Part of the Kentucky Derby wagering problem for Square Eddie is that he has not had good recent success.

Square Eddie is coming off a disappointing 3rd place finish at Lexington.  Prior to that, Square Eddie finished 2nd at the San Rafael at Santa Anita.  Square Eddie finished second in the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita and last won on October 4 in the Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland.

Smart Strike, the leading sire of the past two years, sired Square Eddie.  Smart Strike won six of his eight career races.  Square Eddie is trained by Doug O’Neill, who is one of the leading trainers on the Southern California Circuit.  O’Neill has pocketed 20 titles in SoCal since 2002 and trained 3 Breeders’ Cup Winners.

Corey Nakatani will ride Square Eddie and is one of the most familiar names on the Kentucky Derby wagering lineup board for jockeys.  Nakatani is a fixture in Southern California racing and won titles at Santa Anita, Hollywood, Del Mar, and Oak Tree along with a total of over 3,000 wins in his career.

Nakatani has had 14 Kentucky Derby wagering mounts but is yet to win a blanket of roses.  He finished sixth last year in Kentucky Derby wagering action with Colonel John.  Owner Paul Reddam is no stranger to big time success.

While he is yet to post a Kentucky Derby wagering win he has won in the Breeders’ Cup.
