Mission Impazible brings a solid resume to Kentucky Derby gambling fans with five career starts with two wins, one second place finish, and one third place finish good for total earnings of over $511,000.
Mission Impazible caught the serious attention of Kentucky Derby gambling handicappers with his March 27 win at the Grade II Louisiana Derby at Fair Grounds. Mission Impazible was one of seven legitimate contenders in one of the better balanced races of the year so far and beat out A Little Warm by three quarters of a length.
What was most impressive about the win was that Mission Impazible rallied from a seventh place spot at the three quarter pole to close all the way to third as the field hit the stretch. The Louisiana Derby was one mile and one eighth with a purse of $750,000.
On February 20 Mission Impazible ran in an excellent Kentucky Derby wagering test at Oaklawn Park in the Grade III Southwest Stakes with fellow Derby Day contenders Conveyance and Dublin.
Mission Impazible finished fourth as a mid level $7.60 choice as Conveyance got the win. Mission Impazible was within striking distance but could never pull up and it was a Kentucky Derby gambling disappointment.
Mission Impazible has one of the most respected trainers and biggest names in all of Kentucky Derby gambling with Todd Pletcher on his side. The colt is owned by Twin Creeks Racing Stable and has Rajiv Maragh as the jockey. Pletcher could have several entries on Derby Day and knows his way around Churchill Downs.
Mission Impazible has phenomenal Kentucky Derby gambling pedigree with Unbridled’s Song as the Sire with bloodlines to the famed Unbridled. The dam is La Paz. It is a pedigree perfect for the long distance of the Derby although the results so far have not lived up to the bloodlines.
