Kentucky Derby Betting - Baffert Commands Respect

Kentucky Derby betting anticipation continues to build for the May 1 “Run for the Roses” as Kentucky Derby gambling preparation is going around the clock.

Kentucky Derby betting focus will be on one of the elite trainers and most respected names in all of Kentucky Derby gambling with Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert. Baffert will have two of the top Kentucky Derby betting contenders in the field come post time with Conveyance and Lookin at Lucky.

Other Baffert contenders for Derby day include Bulldogger, Tiz Chrome, Uh Oh Bingo, and Concord Point.

Baffert has trained three previous Kentucky Derby betting winners with victories coming in 1997, 1998, and 2002.  He has four Preakness Stakes wins and one win in the Belmont Stakes.  He also has two wins in the Dubai World Cup in 1998 and 2001.

Baffert first established himself with those betting the Kentucky Derby odds as a first rate trainer in 1997 when he won the Derby and the Preakness with Silver Charm.  He led Real Quiet to a blanket of roses in 1998.  This marked success at such a high level is why all Baffert horses get a strong look from handicappers.

Baffert has trained a total of 18 Kentucky Derby betting starters for his career.  He is a three time winner of the prestigious Eclipse Award for the top trainer in the nation as he ran off a “three peat” for the award in 1997-99.  From 1998-2001 Baffert led the nation in earnings.  This is a resume that draws attention from gamblers.

Baffert also has a total of seven national champion horses trained for his Kentucky Derby betting resume. He trained Point Given who was the 2001 male horse of the year.  Such a history of success makes Baffert one of the first names to be sought out when gamblers handicap a race such as the Kentucky Derby.

The Baffert trained Lookin at Lucky is one of the top Kentucky Derby betting choices on the board as the colt has won six out of eight starts and has been in the money all eight times.  Conveyance is another top contender for the blanket of roses as he has won four out of five career starts.
