Belmont Stakes Handicapping Notes at Sports Gambling

Belmont Stakes handicapping for the 141st running of the Belmont Stakes wagering event is still taking shape as there are plenty of rumored strong entries.

Belmont Stakes handicapping will feature a wide open field of Belmont Stakes wagering possibilities with both well known and newer horses likely making the post.

Filly Rachel Alexandra would be the Belmont Stakes handicapping favorite if she enters, after an impressive performance in the Preakness Stakes in which she led wire-to-wire to become the first filly to win the event in over 80 years and fill the hopes of Belmont Stakes wagering fans that she will take part on June 6.

She would certainly bring the most raw speed to Belmont Stakes handicapping if she enters.

Charitable Man, winner of the Peter Pan and a fresh horse in Belmont Stakes handicapping action would be the next best horse for speed and would have the Belmont Stakes handicapping advantage of fresher legs as he skipped the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes and the stress that goes with running in those events.

Kentucky Derby horses Dunkirk, Chocolate Candy, Summer Bird, and Mr. Hot Stuff win take part in Belmont Stakes handicapping.  The horses will have the Belmont Stakes handicapping advantage of a 5-week rest as they have not run since the “run for the roses”.

Dunkirk was the highly touted second choice at the Derby and would make for a potentially dangerous Belmont Stakes handicapping beaten favorite.

His running style, much like that of Chocolate Candy, is not considered a strength for the Belmont Stakes, which is a marathon mile and a half race and the most demanding of the three Triple Crown runs.

Flying Private, trained under hall of famer D. Wayne Lucas, could be another strong choice for the Belmont Stakes as after a dead last finish at the Kentucky Derby, he rallied to finish 4th at the Preakness Stakes.

Other probable starters for the Belmont include Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird, Miner’s Escape, Brave Victory, and Luv Gov.  Mine That Bird earned a lot of respect for his strong 2nd place showing at the Preakness.
