Golf Betting - Woods Open to Getting back on Track

Golf betting anticipation continues to grow for the ultimate in online golf betting excitement with the US Open from Pebble Beach starting June 17.

Golf betting fans will have their choice of the absolute best players in the world who will compete in one of the four major online golf betting events of 2010.

Tiger Woods of course is the first name of golf betting and the ultimate marquee title to any list of competitors on the board.

Woods will be one of the favorites to win the US Open, of that there is no doubt, but whether he can actually pull out a win is of considerable debate.  Woods currently has 14 major titles but just one since his 2006 British Open win.

Woods has been spotty in the few sports betting golf events that he has taken part in this year.  In 4 events for this year that began with The Masters he has just 1 top 10 finish as he even failed to make the cut once.  Woods best finish was 4th at The Masters followed by a 19th place showing at The Memorial.

At one point in his career not all that long ago Woods was considered a lock to surpass the famed Jack Nicklaus for the all time record of 18 major tournament wins.  That now seems less than certain.

The last time that the US Open was held at Pebble Beach, Woods made an absolute mockery of the course when he blew out the rest of the online golf betting field with a 15 stroke win as he shot 12 under par to decimate all competition.  Until then the best score at a US Open in the history of the event was 8 under par.

Woods will return to Pebble Beach as a shell of his former self.  He began the sports betting golf season on the sidelines after the blowup with his wife and all of the tabloid stories that went into graphic and humiliating detail of his extra marital affairs.

Woods also has a severe betting golf issue with his problematic left knee that has gone through four surgeries.

Woods will enter the US Open as a golf betting question mark that has plenty of potential but also plenty of possible pit falls.

Beyond that, until he proves he can reclaim his past glory, Woods will also make for an expensive golf bet overlay that will cost bettors a lot of extra cash when he fails.
