CFL Football Gambling Opens July 1, 2009

CFL Football gambling returns with CFL odds to be posted on Wednesday, July 1 for the season openers of Toronto at Hamilton and Montreal at Calgary.

CFL Football gambling will continue on Thursday with Winnipeg at Edmonton and then CFL odds for Friday will feature British Columbia at Saskatchewan.  The Calgary Stampeders are the defending CFL Football gambling Grey Cup champions as they defeated the Montreal Alouettes 22-14.

They also beat the CFL odds in a pick ‘em for the title game.  Calgary finished the 2008 CFL Football gambling season with a record of 13-5 straight up and a phenomenal 13-5 against the spread.  11 out of their 18 regular season CFL Football gambling appearances went over the total.

Calgary’s main CFL Football gambling rival from the west division are the Saskatchewan Rough Riders who finished 12-6 straight up last year while going 9-8-1 against the spread.  The loaded west division had two more teams with double digit straight up wins as the Edmonton Eskimos and British Columbia Lions both finished 10-8.

The Alouettes were fortunate to be in the east division last CFL Football gambling season, which was far and away weaker than the west division.  Montreal finished 11-7 straight up and 10-8 against the spread.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were about the only other team that was even close to respectable from the east division last CFL Football gambling season as they stumbled to an 8-10 straight up record while going 7-9-2 against the spread.

The Toronto Argonauts finished a horrible 4-10 straight up and 6-10-1 against the spread while the Hamilton Tiger Cats were the worst team in CFL Football gambling with a mark of 3-15 straight up and 6-11-1 against the spread.  Anthony Calvillo is one of the top players in the CFL as the quarterback o Montreal.

Last year the 16 year veteran threw for 5633 yards and 43 touchdowns with just 13 interceptions.  He is the reason Montreal is again expected to contend.  Henry Burris of Calgary is another top arm as he passed for 5093 yards and 39 touchdowns with just 14 interceptions to lead the champions.
