NASCAR Betting 2008 Daytona 500 Preview at Sports Gambling
NASCAR betting shows that the Daytona 500 is a 200-lap, 500 mile race and is one of four restrictor plate races on the Cup schedule. Daytona 500 odds will show some of the top drivers as NASCAR betting favorites.
Three-time Champion Jeff Gordon, defending Cup Champion Jimmy Johnson and restrictor plate expert Dale Earnhardt Jr. are some of the NASCAR betting favorites in the Daytona 500. Another top contender in NASCAR betting odds is Tony Stewart.
The Daytona 500 is thought of as the best NASCAR betting race and is know as the "The Great American Race" and the "Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing". The winner of the Daytona 500 is presented with the Harley J. Earl Trophy and the driver gets a leg up in the points standings. Last year NASCAR betting showed that Kevin Harvick was the race winner, just edging out Mark Martin by .020 seconds. It was the closest margin of victory at the 500 since electronic scoring started in 1993. Harvick became only the fourth driver to sweep NASCAR betting for the weekend and he won both the Busch and Cup races. Harvick also tied Benny Parsons for the fewest number of laps led by a Daytona 500 winner with four. He started 34th (lowest ever by a winner).
Daytona 500 odds will likely have Johnson, Gordon, Stewart and Earnhardt Jr. as the NASCAR betting favorites. Other candidates in NASCAR betting for the Daytona 500 include Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. Another possibility in Daytona 500 odds could be Martin Truex Jr. who is from the DEI team. The DEI team has had great success in the past although they no longer have Dale Earnhardt Jr. as he moved on to the Hendrick team. 2008 Daytona 500 odds should definitely be exciting.
