Indy Car betting fans have a tight race to handicap the rest of the way with some of the biggest names in auto racing betting are in the thick of the points race heading down the stretch.
Will Power is the current leader in the series. The Australian has 4 wins and 8 top ten finishes in 10 starts this year and should be in the thick of contention the rest of the way as a Penske Team driver.
Dario Franchitti is close behind in second place and has been remarkably consistent this year with 1 win but 8 top ten finishes. Franchitti was last year’s champion and was the winner of this year’s Indianapolis 500. He drives for Chip Ganassi Racing, the team that has won the past two Indy racing titles.
In third place is Scott Dixon, who is a two-time champion that last won the series in 2008. Dixon has 1 win and 8 top ten finishes this year for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Ryan Briscoe of Team Penske is in 4th place. He has 1 win and 7 top ten finishes and finished 3rd in the standings last year.
Ryan Hunter-Reay may not be one of the better known names in car racing betting but that may change after this year as he is in the thick of the race in 5th position for Andretti Autosport.
The American from Boca Raton, Fl has 1 win and 7 top ten finishes. He has shown marked improvement after finishing 15th in the series last year. He was the 2007 rookie of the year.
Helio Castroneves is certainly well known and one of the best divers on the circuit while currently in 6th position in the standings. The Brazilian drives for Team Penske and has 1 win and 8 top ten finishes. Castroneves finished 4th in the race last year and while he is a multiple winner of the Indy 500 he has never won the series title.
The Indy Car betting points race is rounded out by Tony Kanaan, Justin Wilson, Dan Wheldon and Marco Andretti for the top ten. Danica Patrick has improved after a terrible start to the season to rank 11th in the standings.
